Located along Perth’s stunning northern coastline, Kallaroo is a highly sought-after beachside suburb known for its relaxed lifestyle, family-friendly community, and beautiful ocean views. Many homes in the area were built decades ago and are now being thoughtfully renovated to better suit modern living while maximising the benefits of their coastal location.
This project was entrusted to La Vera Building & Management to transform an existing home through a carefully planned renovation and alteration program. The homeowners loved their location and existing property but felt the internal layout no longer reflected the way modern families live and entertain.
The primary objective of the renovation was to create a more open, functional, and connected living environment. Through the removal of several internal walls, the existing floor plan was reconfigured to open up the kitchen, dining, and living areas, creating a spacious central hub that better suited everyday family life and entertaining.
A brand-new kitchen was installed as the centrepiece of the renovation, combining improved functionality with a contemporary design that complemented the home’s updated layout. To further enhance the sense of space and connection, large bifold doors were incorporated into the rear elevation, while a generous servery window positioned above the kitchen counter created a direct link between the indoor and outdoor entertaining areas.
These design features allowed natural light and coastal breezes to flow throughout the home while creating a seamless transition between the interior living spaces and the outdoor entertaining area. The result is a home that feels significantly larger, brighter, and more connected to its surroundings.
Completed over approximately six months, this renovation demonstrates how thoughtful alterations can completely transform the functionality and feel of an existing home. By opening up previously enclosed spaces and strengthening the relationship between indoor and outdoor living, the project has delivered a modern, inviting home perfectly suited to the coastal Kallaroo lifestyle.
